Solar farm construction
support, from survey to site handover.
Xponent Energy Solutions delivers the mechanical, civil and electrical scope on ground-mount solar PV sites — survey and site inspection, piling and load testing, module installation, civil and electrical works, revamping and OEM services — working alongside EPCs and developers.
The contractor EPCs bring in for the mechanical, civil & electrical scope.
Xponent Energy Solutions works alongside EPCs, developers and asset owners on ground-mount solar PV sites, taking on the construction-phase scope: site survey and inspection, piling and load testing, mechanical installation, civil and electrical works, revamping and OEM support.
We combine hands-on piling and geotechnical experience with practical design input, helping EPC teams de-risk the build phase rather than just execute a fixed spec.
What we cover, start to finish
This is the sequence we run as a subcontractor or delivery partner to EPCs and developers on a solar PV build.
Services, by discipline
Engage us for the full construction-phase scope, or bring us in for a single discipline alongside your own EPC team.
Survey & GPS Flagging
Site survey and GPS setting-out ahead of piling and civil works, so the build starts from accurate ground data.
Site Inspection
Qualified engineer inspection of ground conditions, feeding geotechnical advice into the piling design.
Piling & Load Testing
Pull-out and load test results ahead of full piling installation, matched to the site's ground conditions.
Full Mechanical Scope
Racking and mounting system installation through to module install, with QA sign-off on every row.
Civil Works
Access roads, cable ducting, drainage and general civil engineering across the site.
Electrical Works
DC/AC electrical installation delivered as part of the wider EPC electrical scope.
Revamping
Refurbishment and upgrade works on existing ground-mount solar sites.
OEM Services
Installation and technical support services delivered on behalf of equipment manufacturers.
Design & Advisory Support
Practical input to EPC design teams, drawing on our piling experience and geotechnical knowledge.
A programme you can actually track
We sequence our mechanical, civil, and electrical crews around your master programme dates — eliminating subcontractor hand-off friction and providing transparent, auditable progress on site.
EPC Delivery Standards
-
CDM 2015 Compliant
Daily RAMS briefings, toolbox talks, and site supervisor sign-off.
-
De-risked Groundworks
Calibrated pull-out testing before volume piling commences.
-
Weekly Milestone Tracking
Progress logs shared directly with your EPC project director.
Site survey & inspection
We walk the site, carry out GPS flagging and a qualified engineer inspection, and return pull-out/load test results before piling design is finalised.
Scope & mobilisation
Scope is agreed with the EPC or developer, plant and crews are mobilised to site, and teams are briefed with RAMS specific to the site.
Piling & civils
Piling installation runs alongside access roads, trenching and drainage, sequenced to keep mechanical crews fed with completed ground.
Mechanical & electrical install
Racking, module install and electrical works run as coordinated crews, tracked against a weekly progress plan shared with the EPC.
Snagging & handover
QA checks and snagging are closed out discipline by discipline, with a documented handover back to the EPC or main contractor.
What the mechanical scope looks like on the ground
Live construction photography from utility-scale and commercial ground-mount solar builds across the UK.
Piling to panels, on one site
This time-lapse of a UK utility-scale solar farm shows the same construction sequence we deliver on the mechanical, civil and electrical scope — groundworks and piling first, then racking, modules and electrical works.

"Xponent's piling and mechanical crews slotted straight into our programme, on schedule from day one."
"Good geotechnical input at the survey stage meant fewer surprises once piling started."
"Straightforward to work with on a revamp project — civil, mechanical and electrical scope handled by one team."
Built around the frameworks the industry already trusts
We align our site management and health & safety processes with the standards UK solar EPCs expect — confirm current certificate numbers with us directly.
